Thanks to a 2008 grant of $4,000 from SPEB, the Colorado Trailblazers worked with volunteers to initiate and support a non-motorized trail construction project in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area of the Pike National Forest directly adjacent to Segment H. This trail construction project, Nice Kitty Trail, began in September of 2008 and has a total estimated length of 4.3 miles. The Trailblazers are working in concert with the South Platte Ranger District, U.S. D.A. Forest Service, which provides oversight and approval. Bikes Belong provided $8,000 in matching grant funds and in-kind donations were received from several retail businesses.
