SPEB awarded a 2010 grant of $17,700 to the Colorado Trailblazers for the construction of a non-motorized trail bridge over Buffalo Creek and its associated floodplain.  This grant builds on funds previously awarded by SPEB to the Trailblazers in support of this trail construction project.  The bridge will provide access to from Nice Kitty Trail to Forest Service Road 543 directly adjacent to Segment H.  At the end of 2010, the Trailblazers have documented 2,712 volunteer hours in support of 2.5 miles of trail construction.  Total cost for the trail bridge is estimated at $74,930.  Matching funds from Colorado State Parks’ Trails Grant Program and in-kind service contributions from the U.S.D.A Forest Service have been secured to support the completion of the trail bridge.
