The Wild and Scenic River Studies analyzed whether 49.4 miles of the South Platte River and 50.1 miles of its North Fork met the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act eligibility criteria of being either free-flowing or of having at least one Outstandingly Remarkable Value (ORV). It was determined that all of the South Platte River studied and 22.9 miles of its North Fork met that criteria. Below are descriptions of those segments and the ORVs it was determined they possessed to make them eligible for possible designation under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
